CABIN FEVER 2006It must have been a winter squall,
The snow outside is window tall.
The cabins fireplace does its best,
But this storm just will not rest.
Bundled up from head to toe,
I watch the swirling snowdrifts blow.
I'm half frozen, half insane,
But try to wipe the frozen pane.
Peering through the frosted glass,
I'm praying for this storm to pass.
Trapped inside by the storm,
I'm drinking coco, safe and warm.
For when the blustery ice-winds blow,
It's cabin fever . . .or the snow.

****EARTHEN ANGELS****Oh mortal soul your flesh is frail,
Warm at a hearth as cold winds wail.
The desperate orphan's hollow eyes,
Seek comfort with low pleading cries.
The hungry beggar, nearly froze,
Holes beset his tattered clothes.
Sad urning in their hearts doth plead,
Though multitudes are full of greed.
A few good souls will feel this pain,
They joy to share their worldly gain.
Desiring not to receive their own,
They offer gifts free till all are gone.

******FIRE AND ASHES******
Claret flames with Saffron swirls
Devour the earth to bone.
Flesh and blood can not endure
Plead water life doth moan.
Naive native stagger forth
To fight and sweat alone.
Tempt not ominous works of fire
The cobalt skies are gone.
Breath not of forbidden smoke
Suns essence of air has blown.
Tremble not as jade ignites
Naive nature heals her own.

*****THE PERFECT PRESENT*****Christmas lights sparkle blue, red and green,
Transforming the holidayof a cold winter scene.
Winter clouds gather bulging with snow,
To send a soft carpet of snowflakes below.
The North wind blew harshly, It howled as it rose,
And carried soft flurries and white swirling snows.
In breathtaking moonlight,a message was sent.
Nature had left me the perfect present!

*****YOUTHS SENCELESS PAIN****
Bold and street-smart in their season, Cunning boys of craft and treason.
Laying watch in darkened night, Bad company creates a ruthless fight.
Soft words meant to persuade, Tossed aside into the shade.
Shiny dreams and twinkling eyes, Blind their hearts to loved ones cries.
Sure, they are a sorry lot, Sleeping lifeless in their plot.
Nothing lost! Nothing gained!Struggling years of hopeless pain.
We know not whose soul we might faze, By one smile or word of praise.
The weakest candles brilliant glare, Might destroy a demons lare!
